AN CAFE and Maru Music and An Cafe are proud to announce the release GOKU-TAMA ROCK CAFE. This is the latest album from the Harajuku-kei band AN CAFE. Their name comes from the shortened version of the word Antique Café. Harajuku-kei is a sub-genre of the Visual-kei scene, the the distinction being the emphases on the colorful playful fashion of the famous Harajuku shopping area of Tokyo.

AN CAFE is a Japanese Visual-kei rock band featuring the talents of miku (vocals), takuya (guitar), kanon (bass), yu-ki (keyboard) and teruki (drums). The band was formed in 2003 by original members miku, kanon, and bou, soon to be followed by teruki a few months later. When Bou left the band in April 2007 to pursue a solo career, they welcomed new members, takuya and yu-ki, thus becoming a quintet.

AN CAFE is extremely popular with the teenage crowd. One might say it's because of their "larger than life" lyrics and an energy that infects its audience with a dancing fever. Their songs have a wide appeal to all audiences including J-pop fans and have the potential to reach those who are not familiar with foreign music, not to mention Visual-kei fanatics. AN CAFE are known for their amazing live shows, where each member gets to express their unique individual personalities.

Originally released in 1991, the fifth Dragon Ball Z feature (a.k.a. Tobikkiri no Saikyou tai Saikyou--"Fantastic Ultimate Strength vs. Ultimate Strength") involves the characters from the TV episodes, but in an unrelated continuity. Goku and Gohan set off on a camping trip with Krillin and Oolong, but their outing turns into a battle royal when they're attacked by the minions of Cooler, Frieza's older brother. Piccolo appears as a Nameck ex machina to aid Gohan, but the centerpiece of the film is the battle between Goku in his Super-Saiyan form and Cooler, who looks like a purple iguana in a football uniform. The various Dragon Ball properties balance slapstick and fantastic action; Cooler's Revenge offers lots of action, and a rock soundtrack, but little comedy. Bardock was one of the Saiya-jin Frieza used as mercenaries to conquer other worlds. Although he was only a "low level" warrior, Bardock grew so powerful that Frieza and his lieutenant Doodoria feared he might become a threat to them. Doodoria brutally murdered the other members of Bardock's squadron; Frieza destroyed the entire Saiya planet--Vegeta, Nappa, and Goku (né Kakarot) were the only survivors. Before he was killed, the fish-like, Tooro cursed Bardock with the ability to see the future, including his own brutal death. But his new psychic powers enable Bardock to establish a mysterious bond with his infant son, who will grow up to defeat the monstrous Frieza. Bardock the Father of Goku uses some of the same characters as the popular "Dragonball Z" TV series, but the continuities don't necessarily match. The one-hour TV special, which first aired in Japan in 1990, has been so heavily edited that it feels fragmented. The viewer is never told who Goku's mother is or why the infant is sent into space in a tiny ship, and the rock soundtrack can't quite marry the scenes that are often jarringly cut together (the uncut version supplies three extra minutes of footage that answers some of these questions). The second season of the hit fantasy Dragon Ball concludes the story line involving pint-sized Emperor Pilaf and focuses on Goku's battles with the nasty officers of the Red Ribbon Army. The evil General Red wants the magic Dragon Balls to make him ruler of the world; Goku wants the Four Star Ball as a souvenir of his adoptive grandfather, who owned it. Chuckling merrily as he goes from battle to battle, the irrepressible Goku dispatches the minions of General White in Muscle Tower and befriends android Number Eight (whose appearance and kindly demeanor may remind American viewers of Milton the Monster). After a visit to Bulma, Goku tackles effete General Blue and a robot pirate on a hidden island. Season 2 ends as Goku challenges Korin, the cat who controls magical, strength-giving water atop a precipitous tower. Goku needs the water to grow stronger and defeat assassin Tao Pai Pai, who murdered his friend Oopa's father, Bora. Although Goku's adventures will delight legions of fans, these episodes include some of the most egregious stereotypes in the Dragon Ball franchise: Oopa and Bora are clichéd American Indians in war paint and feathers, while General Blue minces and swishes (his dialogue in the subtitles is quite offensive). Raditz Gokuus brother has traveled to Earth to find out why Gokuu has not yet destroyed the planet as he was supposed to do. The second season of the wildly popular Dragon Ball Z comprises the "Namek" and "Captain Ginyu" sagas. Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma travel to the planet Namek to find an even more powerful set of Dragon Balls that can restore the lives of Tenshinhan, Yamucha, Chaozu and Piccolo, who were killed by Vegeta during the first season.
